She’s addicted to sex. He’s addicted to booze…the only way out is rock bottom.

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.

Their real vice may be each other.

This book has been recommended for me for years but come on the paperback is 15-20€. I’m not going to pay that much for a paperback of book I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy.  But then I saw it as a freebie and didn’t waste a second before getting it to my kindle books.

“No one told me you can love someone and still be miserable. How is that possible?”

Addicted to You is a story about Lily and Loren who have been friends since middle school. They have been in a fake relationship for three years to hide Lily’s addiction to sex and his addiction to booze. Things start to change and Lily doesn’t like it. But then they realize that they have feelings for each other.

Lily Calloway is addicted to sex and she hates herself for it. She wondered what’s wrong with her, especially when she was a teenager. Lily often goes to tests in case of any diseases and thinks of herself as dirty. She just can’t stop herself and even avoids her family, often. There’s only one person she trusts with her addiction; her best friend Loren.

“We’re terrible at so many things—remembering important dates, college, making friends—but the one thing we’ve always been halfway decent at is being together. We owe it to ourselves to try.”

I usually dislike any book with friends to lovers trope, unless you count Bloodlines but guys this one is so good! It feels like forever until they get together but it’s all worth it, I as a fan of insta love and enemies to lovers at least think so. It made me laugh and cry and I’m just so glad I picked it up.

I fell in love with the side characters; Connor and Ryke and I guess for them I can pay for such expensive books. I mean I almost fangirled when Ryker mentioned Smallville. I might not read comics, just like him, but that show is, and probably will always be, my favorite superhero show. Other girls might fangirl over Marvel movies or the current superhero shows but I still love Smallville and I still remember comparing Arrow’s Oliver Queen to the one in Smallville.

I gave a higher rating because it was so out of my comfort zone and it still made me crave for more, especially after that ending.

  1. Okay usually not my sort of book but this sounds REALLY REALLY good, also, YES to Smallville!! I will die on that hill that is my love for Smallville lol. Great review Jamsu, I hope I get a chance to read this!

  2. So I’m slightly confused…. is Lily or Loren the guy? I have a GF called Loren and my niece is Lily so I’m super confused….but the blurb says there’s a guy and a girl? Otherwise this sounds super intriguing! Addictions, how you handle them, friends to lovers. That all sounds like stuff that’s complex and interesting enough to hold my attention. Thank you for sharing!
