Top 5 Surprising Reads

top 5 Wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme in Goodreads, where you list your top 5 for the week’s chosen topic. You can check the group here for more discussions and topics.  I’m not involving books I had in my 2019 version which you can read here.

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan

Honestly I’m behind this series but I remember being so surprised when I started the series. I never read comics but this one had aliens and colored pictures, so I decided to give it a chance. If you like to read romance graphic novels I’d love to hear some recommendations. I had so fun time reading these but I just kind of forgot about them after they went into a hiatus. You can read my review for volume two here.

The Supervillain and Me by Danielle Banas

I never read contemporary young adult but for some reason I picked this one up and actually really enjoyed it. You can read my review here.

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

tales from shadowhunter academy

I thought this book was only about Simon Lewis and back when I picked this book up I didn’t like him, so imagine my surprise when I actually met one of my favorite (actually maybe two) of my favorite shadowhunter world characters here. Read my review here.

Little Dove by Layla Frost

Little Dove

This was my first book by Layla Frost and I still need to read more of her books. I saw a line from the book in booktok but I didn’t think I’d actually end up enjoying it since daddykink and even mafia books can bee hit or miss for me. In the end I ended up loving it. Read my review here.

Her Soul To Take by Harley Laroux

Her Soul to Take

I’m always trying to find new books with demons I’d enjoy and I was surprised how much I ended up liking this one. I hear the second book is even better, so I can’t wait to start it. Read my review here.
