Nino Falcone is genius and monster. As the right hand man and brother of the Capo of the Camorra, his lack of feelings is a blessing, not a curse – until his brother asks him to marry for the sake of the Camorra.
Kiara Vitiello, cousin of the Capo of the New York Famiglia, is chosen to marry Nino Falcone to prevent war with the Camorra, but what she hears about Las Vegas makes her veins pulse with terror. After her father betrayed his Capo and paid with his life, her family thinks marriage is her only chance to bring honor to her name; but only Kiara knows she’s a faulty prize given in return for peace.
A man incapable of emotions and a woman scarred by the past – an arranged marriage with the potential to unite, or destroy…

“I love you. For real. No simulated affection or love ever again, because with you, I don’t need to simulate. You dragged that dead part of me out of the past and revived it. I didn’t die fifteen years ago, but I didn’t live either … until you.”

Twisted Emotions was the book I was the most exited about in this series and it’s out of my comfort zone, so I’m so glad I enjoyed it.

Kiara had even worse past and family life than Leona had in Twisted Loyalties. She’s traitor’s daughter and there’s no greater crime and betrayal. Her father had tainted their family name. She lost her parents and if her aunt and uncle didn’t have to take her in they wouldn’t have. They gave her shelter and education but not affection or even protection. They didn’t even notice what happened to her when she was still a child.

Nino isn’t capable of feeling but he’s loyal to his brother and when Remo asks him to marry Kiara he doesn’t agree and is even willing to do everything to make the marriage work. Nino is aware of his status and power and doesn’t need to her submission or flattery. Some male characters can be so toxic in mafia books that I loved that even if he didn’t really have feeling besides pain he also wouldn’t feel attacked if she stands up to him. He actually wanted her to become more confident in her own skin.

I think Kiara and Nino were perfect fit. Kiara had to get used to Nino before she could even try to be with him and he was really understanding and did everything to protect her. It was easy for her to cut ties for her blood family and become a Falcone and I love that she wanted to be part of their family.

I loved Nino’s relationship with his brothers but I also loved seeing Kiara with his family. Remo isn’t really a protective guy or nice but he did save Kiara when she was terrified.

All in all this book is completely different from books I usually enjoy and if I didn’t feel like it ended before their romance really began I could’ve rated it higher. This book does have cheating but since the heroine was OK with it and he stopped when she asked to I don’t really know if I can count it as cheating even if they were married.
