After selling her soul to become Queen of the Wicked, Emilia travels to the Seven Circles with the enigmatic Prince of Wrath, where she’s introduced to a seductive world of vice.
She vows to do whatever it takes to avenge her beloved sister, Vittoria… even if that means accepting the hand of the Prince of Pride, the king of demons.
The first rule in the court of the Wicked? Trust no one. With back-stabbing princes, luxurious palaces, mysterious party invitations, and conflicting clues about who really killed her twin, Emilia finds herself more alone than ever before. Can she even trust Wrath, her one-time ally in the mortal world… or is he keeping dangerous secrets about his true nature?
Emilia will be tested in every way as she seeks a series of magical objects that will unlock the clues of her past and the answers she craves…
Two sinful princes.
Infinite deception with a side of revenge… Welcome to Hell.
I was so exited for this book and I started buddy reading this with Sam @ Fictionally Sam almost immediately. You can read her review here.
Emilia didn’t really care about anything but getting revenge for what happened to her twin and get back home but of course that didn’t stop her from falling for Wrath. But it also didn’t mean she’d risk her heart in the progress. I loved that he didn’t want her to defenceless little princess but instead wanted to teach her fight against magic, so she would be safe from his brothers and he even took it seriously.
I like Emilia but I think this series would’ve been more interesting in Wrath’s POV and I really think the favor she agreed to do will bite her later. I don’t think she got to use her powers enough and the fact that this book has demons and witches made me want to read, so hopefully we will get more to it in the final installment. I also have some theories about our heroine.
All in all I liked the romance more in this book but there wasn’t enough magic and mystery compared to the first book. I was also bored a lot during this read. Maybe my expectations just were a lot lower while reading Kingdom of The Wicked. I really hope Emilia gets some kind of revenge towards certain someone and that the romance picks up even more.
