Top Five Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Today’s topic was Top 5 hyped books I didn’t like. I have talked about Leigh Bardugo’s books and Harry Potter so often that I didn’t mention them in this one, so I wouldn’t repeat myself.
I bought the books when I had a major Fifty Shades book hangover and somehow managed to finish them. I’ve tried rereading them a few times since I enjoy the movies but they just have way too much drama. I was too lazy to get a picture of the book so I used the one for the movie.
I didn’t hate Sweet Evil but I don’t really understand the hype. The hero is basically a manwhore since he can’t live without sex. Anna was much more understanding about his “job” than I could’ve been, especially when he doesn’t really show his soft part that much. The romance was terrible in my opinion and I don’t really understand what people see in it.
I’m going to read the last book of this series but I have to say that Wayward Son was disappointing for me. The whole book was way too angsty for me and I hated how the break up was mentioned from the first few pages.
I tried this after reading some Sarah J. Maas books and wanted to try some fae books. Many people who hype this books up say the series gets better but I just wasn’t feeling it.
I think I read Matched after Divergent and The Hunger Games. The first book was alright enough for me to buy rest of the series but of course I never even finished the second book. I found the matching thing interesting but of course love triangle ruined it for me and I got over my dystopia phase.
What hyped books didn’t you like?
What??? They break up in Wayward Son??

Spoilers! But I can say one of them is thinking about it in the first pages that’s why I didn’t see it as a spoiler.

I refuse to read the book, but I did see the movie adaptation of After, and that has put me off reading anything by Anna Todd for the rest of my life. Wowsers that was bad. I can’t even begin to imagine how bad the book is!! I’m sorry that you read it 😅💕

Yeah I never understood the Fever series that much and after that scandal that happened some years ago I haven’t been able to read KMM since. It just wasn’t a series I could understand the hype around that much. They were entertaining books but that was it.

I didn’t know about any scandal but I decided the author wasn’t for me after the only other book from her I read turned out to be reverse harem and I had no idea. It actually made me want to never pick another reverse harem book again 😂
