Her father promised me life on the legal side if I saved his only daughter.
I was her last hope.
Something about this rich, spoiled princess captured me from the moment I laid my eyes on her. This green eyed beauty made me want things I never had.
She was untouchable. If I was decent, I’d keep my distance. But God knew I was the worst kind of sinner.
She shouldn’t have wanted my touch. Now she was mine.
When a Russian rival mafia came for her seeking revenge and old, forgotten secrets are revealed, her life became marked.
Would she stay in my world or go back to her carefree, privileged life?
Marked, book 1 in Russian Sinners series is a standalone read. No cliffhangers, no cheating and lots of steamy scenes.
PLEASE NOTE there is violence in the book and potential triggers.
My favorite mafia romance so far and maybe my favorite ARC I’ve ever read! I have never read Eva Winners’ books before but now I want to read more of her work. I really wanted to get to mafia romance but didn’t think I could ever enjoy them as much as I was hoping to but if there’s few jewels like this? Count me in.
Anastasia’s life wasn’t perfect but she had two amazing friends. She was only ten years old when she was kidnapped for the first time and running was one of the things that relieved her stress. I really liked her character. She was raised in a powerful family with money but she put other people first and was ready to become a fighter to save her friends.
Dimitry’s life was far from perfect too. He was never kidnapped or something like that but you could say he had things even worse than Anastasia. He was about two when he was left at the doorstep of the orphanage and when he was just a child he had to learn how to steal food. Dimitry was amazing hero. Everything he did to his friends and everything he was ready to do for Anastasia, even burn down the world for her.
Their relationship was slowburn but it never bored me. I love that Anastasia waited for a man that made her feel fireworks. Dimitry is insecure and while it’s clear that he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her it wasn’t over done. It didn’t make me annoyed like some character’s insecurities can be when they repeat it over and over again.
Anastasia was in captivity for two weeks before Dimitry saved her. She had had it with Russians and Russia but she never took it on him or his friends. It was great to see them falling for each other and I loved how possessive he was of her. I also loved how understanding Anastasia was about everything.
All in all amazing read and I really want to continue this series. I don’t know if I’m more exited about Nikolai or Sergei’s book. Marked is everything I wanted from mafia romance. The romance was just so beautiful. There weren’t too much unnecessary drama and the characters clearly trusted each other. Anastasia was light to his darkness and I love how she really wanted to get to know Dimitry instead of just being drawn to his good looks.
