Top 5 Books With Witches

t5t

Top Five Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Today’s topic was favorite books featuring witches. I already did this prompt few years ago (you can find that post here) but I’ve changed my mind on some books in that list.

5. Dead To The World by Charlaine Harris

One day I might unhaul all books from Sookie Stackhouse series except for this one. Teenage enjoyed these books but after rereading most of them– I mostly just cared about Sookie’s relationship with Eric and this one was one of the only book focusing on that. Witches curse and the ”war” against them was pretty interesting even if I didn’t care of the actual witches.

4. Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini

I didn’t enjoy rest of the series that much but Trial by Fire aka first book in Worldwalker series was so different in my opinion. I read it years before reading The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare so the whole mirror world thing was so refreshing and I loved seeing a character trying to live in a world when her “mirror self” is evil.

3. Shadowhunter World by Cassandra Clare

This world doesn’t focus on witches/ warlocks that much but I think everyone can agree that everyone would’ve been dead or miserable without Magnus Bane?

2. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Carry On was everything Harry Potter wasn’t to me. I’m so glad I changed my mind about reading this even though if I wasn’t big fan of the second book. I just need Baz and Simon to get their happy ending. I liked how the first book didn’t only have a friends to enemies to romance but a hero trying his best even if his girlfriend broke up with him, his powers never did what he told him to and I just wish there were more books about witches I’d enjoy as much as this one.

1. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

I love how we didn’t get to the witchcraft right away in this series. Apparently I really like books where the witch wishes they weren’t as powerful as they were but still trying their best to save everyone.

What are your favorite books with witches? Opinions about my picks?

  1. I actually haven’t read and don’t own very many of these, and I don’t associate many of them with witches. The Sookie Stackhouse of the Shadowhunters, for example. I haven’t read many or all of them but they are big worlds to explore! =]

    1. Sookie Stackhouse is more focused on vampires true but there are witches like with the curse and Sookie’s best friend Amelia. I count Magnus Chase as a male witch since he’s a warlock. Unfortunately I haven’t read many books that focus on witches that I actually like.
