Synopsis:
She has tempted many men…but never found her equal. Until now.

Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of Anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death—a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him.

But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining…

The Darkest Kiss is the second book to Lords of the Underworld.

“Apparently, dancing for him and throwing herself at him weren’t enough. Apparently, she had to nearly commit murder to arouse him enough to attack her.”

Lucien was the one to open Pandora’s box, so he had been given the demon of Death. Now he’s charged with the responsibility of collecting human souls and escorting them to their final resting place. Not only that but he feels responsibility to his friends.

The mention of Lords of the Underworld was supposed to scare Anya but instead it had caused excitement to bloom instead. Anya is a goddess of Anarchy and she hates it when people call her a minor goddess. I love how confident this character is even with all her insecurities. I like how Anya’s comfort food is a little unusual.Anya knew she wanted Lucien and started stalking Lucien. He couldn’t see her but he could smell her. I liked this romance but I don’t like how Lucien tried to push the heroine away over and over again. Lucien amused her, challenged her and made her feel alive.

I don’t know if I want the villain in this story to die or find a love interest and become soft. Both options would be fine with me.
