This is the first time I’m taking part of Blogmas. Bookending prompts just didn’t interest me and then I saw these prompts Sophie @ Beware The Reader had in her blog and decided to give few of them a try.
Defy Me is the fifth book of Shatter Me series and while some people think Tahereh should’ve stopped writing this series after the original trilogy I actually enjoy later books maybe more than the first three. It helps that we get more Warnette content. I started this series because people compared it to Klaroline and I’m so glad I continued it even if there was too much Adam in the first books.
My dreams were crushed when I heard how the originals Buffy comics ended (seasons 8-12). I had only read up to season 11 volume 1 so I still like to pretend volume 2 is how they ended. Anyway back to the point– I was so happy about this second chance for my beloved characters. I was in love months before I even read it because of art work I’d seen and even if we got some Spike/Cordelia and even Spike/Xander content but none of Spuffy content I still love the first volume so much.
What were your favorite young adult books from 2019?
I just read Shatter Me this year, so I’m a bit behind. I already bought the next two books but haven’t gotten to read them yet. I’m so glad to hear you like the books beyond the original trilogy, though!

It might be unpopular opinion but I really did!

I have not read either of these, but I did read some awesome YA this year. One would definitely be Deposing Nathan by Zack Smedley.

I’m glad I started her books even if the series was a little slow at first.
