I read the Finnish version, “Veren Imussa”.

Sookie Stackhouse is a cocktail waitress in Bon Temps, Louisiana. She has only a few close friends, because not everyone appreciates Sookie’s gift: she can read minds. That’s not exactly every man’s idea of date bait – unless they’re undead; vampires and the like can be tough to read. And that’s just the kind of guy Sookie’s been looking for. Maybe that’s why, when she comes across a naked vampire, she doesn’t just drive on by. He hasn’t got a clue who he is, but Sookie has: Eric looks just as scary and sexy – and dead – as ever. But now he has amnesia, he’s sweet, vulnerable, and in need of Sookie’s help – because whoever took his memory now wants his life.

I was pretty exited to start Dead to the World since I remember it being my favorite book of the series. I mean Sookie and amnesia! Eric– what’s there not to like?

I’m glad Sookie moved on from Bill instead of forgiving him. I mean the guy called things that happened in Club Dead unfortunate. He even goes to blame his maker even though there were million ways he could’ve done better. As much as I’m enjoying Bubba I don’t understand why he’s team Bill. I guess Bill is closest thing he has as a friend.

I’m loving the relationship between Jason and Sookie more and more. He’s such a protective brother, even threatening Eric. Sookie on other hand showed how much she really cares about her brother and she’s ready to do anything for him.

Sookie is still a little hurt by Bill and ready to leave supernatural world behind her. I mean who wouldn’t want to leave a dangerous world behind them but then she comes across certain vampire and it’s not as easy than she thought.

“Oh, God, puppy dog eyes. From a six-foot-five ancient Viking vampire.”

I can’t describe how much I love amnesia! Eric. I love him with his memories but he’s such a sweetie without them. He wants Sookie to be safe and protected. I can’t tell you how happy I was that he was watching one of my favorite shows ever, even if it was only to laugh at the vampires.

I think the romance in this one was so much better! I’m actually sad that it didn’t take over the plot more. Amnesia! Eric is just so romantic and their chemistry is just so good.

Why didn’t I give a better rating if I loved the romance so much? I wish I could’ve but otherwise the plot wasn’t so interesting to me. I didn’t really care about the werewolves and how things work for them and the witches were pretty boring. Where were all the dangerous spells and giving better fight? If these witches were so powerful how did they loose so fast?

    1. I liked the first four seasons and season four will probably always be my favorite. The books are better. Sookie definitely is much better character in books but I think I only finished six or seven books during this re-read.
