Sequels I’m Not Interested In Reading

Sequels I'm Not Interested On Reading.png

We all have those book series that we’re sure that we’re going to love, someone just hyped them out for us or maybe we just fell out of love with certain book series and just don’t feel like continuing the series.

Let’s look back to few sequels that I decided that they weren’t worth my time. I might read some of these one day even though I’m not interested in reading them at the moment since I can’t make up my mind at times and because I do own some of these.

You might also want to check out my post about books I thought I’d enjoy because of the hype here since I decided not to add those books in this list.

8. Untitled by Sarah J. Maas

I liked the first three books but I’m just not planning on reading a whole book about Nesta. She made me want to pull my hair enough in the novella. Not even my love for Feysand is enough to make me do that to myself.

7. Resistance by C.J Daugherty

I actually liked the first book a lot but surprise, surprise it took forever for the second book to be translated, so I didn’t read it until January 2018. I didn’t like it as much but because one of my mutuals absolutely love this series I still decided to read the third book. I could’ve tried finishing the whole series since I had only few books left but instead I decided to read some books I’m actually interested on reading.

6. The Heir by Kiera Cass

I started the first book forever ago when it got translated to Finnish. I wasn’t a fan of love triangle on the series or how America and Maxon dealth with their problems. I don’t like to leave series unfinished, especially the short ones so I finished the trilogy and I was happy enough with the ending.

I also heard a lot of bad things about what kind of character their daughter is, so no thanks.

5. The Mistress by Tiffany Reisz

I just didn’t care much about characters in this series besides Michael and Griffin. They were actually my second gay ship ever. After that book I just didn’t care for what happened in The Prince and I’m just not going to continue this series.

4. Be With Me by J. Lynn

I decided to read this after fellow book blogger recommended it. I wanted to read some contemporary romance and I love Jennifer L. Armetrout’s other work, like her Lux world and The Dark Elements.

3. Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr

Wicked Lovely was maybe the first book about fae I ever bought. I’m not even sure if I read it before 2017 but I didn’t just like it so much. It sounded very interesting that Aislinn knew about faeries and had rules against even looking at them. I only ended up giving it two stars.

2. Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

I actually almost continued this one, even though I didn’t really like it. People who love this series told me that it was going to get better but I feel like almost all fans say that about their favorite series.

In the end I decided that while I like books about fae this one wasn’t for me. It’s not just because it didn’t have as much romance as I hoped it to have. I mean I love The Cruel Prince and I wasn’t fan of romance in that one.

1. Twisted by Emma Chase

I don’t remember much what happened in Tangled but I have given less than twenty books one star, but this book was one of them. Many people have reviewed this book highly, so while it wasn’t mu cup of tea I think a lot of other people would enjoy it.

  1. So support you on the heir. I never read it but read the original trilogy and wished I didn’t. The first book had promise but I hated the series at the end.

    1. I didn’t hate it. I just had some problems with it. I think it would’ve been good if there was no love triangle and it was standalone instead of trilogy.

  2. I’ll totally agree with the heir. I didn’t like and dnf the original trilogy itself . I dropped Hex Hall just like this and having a hard time around the city of lost souls.

    1. I feel like everyone besides me loves Tangled. You could always reread it if you enjoyed it so much. I love rereading old favorites.

I loved her first three ACOTAR books and I used to love TOG but I guess I grew out of love with it since I didn’t really enjoy Kingdom of Ash.

      1. I feel like if I really really loved a book, then I should remember the story in bits and pieces at least… otherwise maybe I just loved it in the moment and never thought about it again. So I only reread my absolute favorites that stay with me for weeks afterward. Otherwise I have toooooo many unread books waiting on my shelves. 🙈🙈

I loved KOA.. 🙈 broke my heart but I loved it.. I just want more and more stories in both Erilea and Prythian… 😍

      2. I remembered next to nothing about The Dark Elements but still loved the series even after re-reading, except book two was waste of time. I love the first and last book of trilogy.

    1. Thank God for English indeed! Imagine all the books that they never even start translating let alone the ones they decide not to translate mid series. The horror! I actually prefer reading books in English these days since they’re easier to review and I like writing down my favorite quotes to one of my notebooks.

      1. Yeah, I understand .. what I usually do is make them reviews bilingual xD because why not.. most of them is in both languages so I mean, why not.

  4. I vaguely remember reading Wicked Lovely years ago (mainly because of the cover and the title lol) and liking it, and then reading the sequel, but honestly I don’t remember anything about the series??? I don’t think it was very good overall tbh :”)

      1. Yeah, same here… it was a moment when all the paranormal YA was booming and all the shelves are filled with similarly themed covers and stories.
