Six For Sunday #3; Children’s Books I Love

six for sunday.png

Six For Sunday is a weekly meme created by Steph @ A Little But A Lot. The meme was created to list 6 things we love/hate every Sunday. The prompts are mainly bookish but I will add things from TV shows also in certain prompts since I love to cheat.

This list could be called “ranking Rick Riordan books” – list since most of these are written by Rick Riordan.

6. Magisterium by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

I actually haven’t read this one but I have been planning to. A book by these two writers? Count me in.

5. Trials by Apollo by Rick Riordan

I haven’t actually picked up the second book of this series. The first book was good but it wasn’t amazing, so I haven’t really been inspired to pay almost 30€ for the second book. I think other people hyped Will/Nico romance too much for me.

4. Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan

I didn’t enjoy the writing of the books as his earlier work but still enjoyable books. I don’t really enjoy multiple POV’s but it still interesting to see how all the new (and old) characters thought.

3. Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

I finally picked up this book series few years ago. I doubted that I was going to enjoy this since it’s middle grade aka it wouldn’t have any romance. I actually ended up thinking that the ship it does have; Percy & Annabeth wasn’t really necessary. Annabeth is very loved character but I just didn’t understand how they were suddenly in love.

I think what I love the most about this book is the relationship Percy has with Tyson. Tyson just loves his brother so much and would do anything for him. Tyson is such a wonderful character and I don’t think he’s appreciated enough.

2. Magnus Chase by Rick Riordan

I know many people would choose Percy Jackson over this series any day but I actually enjoyed this one more. Magnus learns that his father is a God just like Percy but I can’t for the life of me remember if they ever met… probably not.

I just enjoyed Magnus’ character, humor, friendships and even the romance more. I didn’t feel like the romance was forced like in PJO. We didn’t get to see a lot of Magnus and Alex together and I think that’s a crime. I really enjoyed them, especially in the last book.

1. The Dreadful Tale Of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken

I almost didn’t buy this one since it’s middle grade book but I absolutely fell in love with it! It’s about Prosper Redding who finds out that he has a demon living inside of him. You can read my review here. I can’t recommend this book enough if you like middle grade books.

What Children books do you still need to read? What books do you think I should’ve added to this list? Have you read any of these?

  1. im still yet to read Rick Riordan books and i remember i ordered the percy jackson bookset by your recommendation, but i never got to read them.. YET! (i will someday i promise ♡)

i dont really remember childrens books ive read, but my honest favorite ever AS A KID was artemis fowl (i actually think its young adult really, but i was a kid so hehe) by Eoin Colfer and i used to LOVE this book. i mean i probably reread it like fifty times! i just loved the whole idea of the story, the characters were interesting and funny, the story is SO good! it really keeps you reading and wanting to know more and more! like it has fairies.. thats already a huge plus (for me atleast hehe). also there was one book with the secret codes and languages and i used to try and learn them because i wanted to be cool and part of it aaah !!

im not sure if you have read it, but if not i recommend it/them from the bottom of my heart! i love the characters so much, i actually miss them now :~(

also, i dont remember which ones were my favorite ones from the whole series, but i think like the first three for sure! then later something that i didn’t like happened and i stopped reading sadly.. maybe ill pick them up again someday. actually i kinda really really want to read the first three again now. ♡
