Six For Sunday #2; LGBT Books I Still Need To Read

six for sunday.png

Six For Sunday is a weekly meme created by Steph @ A Little But A Lot. The meme was created to list 6 things we love/hate every Sunday. The prompts are mainly bookish but I will add things from TV shows also in certain prompts since I love to cheat.

6. Half Wild by Sally Green

I own a physical copy of this, so I want to get to this at one point. I have read the first book but I wasn’t that impressed by it. That was mainly because I hate the female love interest. I loved Nathan’s backstory and his friendship with Gabriel. I think if I hadn’t seen some spoilers I would be more interest to finish this series.

5. Ace Of Shades by Amanda Foody

I’ve seen fellow bloggers blog about this book and it peeked my interest but time has go on and I kinda forgot it even exists. I don’t really know a lot about it.

4. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I loved Shiver years ago, so I wanted to start this series after hearing amazing things about it. I think I read few pages but never got over the couple of pages. Honestly I haven’t really thought about this series in years. The synopsis is pretty depressing so I think I just wasn’t ready for all the angst.

3. A Gathering Of Shadows by V.E. SchwabΒ

Another second book of the series. I got exclusive edition of the first book as a Christmas gift few years ago. I enjoyed it but I didn’t love it so I wasn’t in a hurry to continue it. Hardcover of A Gathering Of Shadows was pretty expensive, so I was waiting it to get cheaper but it never did so I never ended up ordering it. Maybe now I will after the exclusive edition is released.

2. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

I have been rereading The Mortal Instruments to finally get to this book. I was never really going to read this because of my dislike for friends to lovers trope but I love Clare’s Shadowhunter world and want to give it a chance.

1. Blood Fury by J.R Ward

This is the third book for Black Dagger Legacy. It’s a spin off for Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I have read the first book but I still have this one and the second book to read. I felt really bad for Saxton when he and Blay broke up. I’m very exited to see him getting his happy ending.

What LGBT books do you still need to read? Have you read any of these?

  1. Most of these are on my TBR! I’m planning on reading Ace of Shades right before the sequel comes out. I loved Amanda Foody’s debut novel and after I finished it, I decided I’d read pretty much anything she writes, haha.

  2. I definitey prioritize reading LGBTQ+ books over reading other books, perhaps because I see so much of myself and my own journey in these stories. There are a bunch I atill want to read, but my favourites are definitely the ones by Becky alvertalli and Nina LaCourπŸ’•

  3. yassssss Lady Midnight must read! also I wanted to read Ace of Shades but ah I haven’t gotten round to it yet either. The Raven Cycle… *sighs* I love that series and i still need to finish the Shiver series haha

  4. I haven’t read any of these O.O They are now all on my list…. Popular LGBTQIA+ books that I haven’t read yet, apart from your entire list πŸ˜€ ‘What If It’s Us’ by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli and ‘They Both Die At the End’ by Adam Silvera. Hope to get to pick them up soon…. πŸ™‚

      1. I continually push it for some reason πŸ™ˆ mmh i should see if my library has it! As im so scared to get it and I end up not following the hype or something ..
