No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger…and they know it.

Third buddy read with a review from Demi! You can find my review of this book here. I’m loving this buddy reread. I can’t wait to get to Hunter’s book next.

Demi’s review

It looks like that in Opal we agree with Jamsu for the book rating; we both gave the book 4.5 stars! Well, Opal is my favorite book so far in the reread. I don’t really remember the next ones so maybe this’ll change. Opal is the most action-filled book from the first three in my opinion. The suspense nearly killed me at times and the ending is seriously powerful and nerve breaking.

Dee is still upset with Katy, almost the whole book, and the way she treats her even though it’s justified at first, it becomes frustrating. I get that she lost someone who was close to her but she shouldn’t shut Katy out, without listening to her. Blake the creep is back :-p I don’t really label the characters but I dislike him that much!

We get introduced to Luc in Opal. I like his character. The whole mysterious teenager with secrets and strange resources is really fascinating! I heard that he get his own book soon 😀 I have to say that I never though I’ll see the day when Katy, Ash and Dee will go shopping for prom dresses. I mean why would you want to spend an afternoon with someone that strongly believes that everything is your fault and dislike you?!

All in all, that’s a really good third book in the series. Usually at this time I starting to lose interest, but Opal has a plot that prevents that and makes me want to read the next one!!

4.5 stars
