I Heart Characters #5; Creature You’d Want to Adopt

This week’s The I Heart Characters topic is “Creature You’d Want to Adopt” so I had to choose ‘An animal or creature character you’d want as a companion’.

I know I already chose Bloodlines character last week but you guys all know my answer is gonna be Hopper!

Hopper is a Callistana, who has Chinese dragon styled body shape being more snake-like shaped rather then the European type dragons body shape. He’s a minor and generally benig kind of a demon even though he looks like a dragon. He was created by Sydney with magic. He was named after a rabbit Adrian made up when the two were searching for a witch.

“Whatever happened to the dragon?”
I mustered my primmest tone. “He has a name, you know.”
Adrian pulled back and gave me a curious look. “I didn’t know, actually. What’d you decide on?”
“Hopper.” When Adrian laughed, I added, “Best rabbit ever. He’d be proud to know his name is being passed on.”

He is small enough to fit into someone’s hand and he likes to climb into Adrian’s shoulder. Hopper has large golden eyes and he looks at his ‘parents’ adoringly, even wagging his tail.They make screeching noises when hungry or when danger is near. After Hopper was created he made this sound until he got some pie. I don’t really get why he likes to eat paint, though. Callistana will try to defend you when you’re attacked but they can’t make much damage.

“Callistanas aren’t so bad either,” I said looking down at my satchel. “That ‘pain in the ass’ screeching saved me from a face full of acid.”

Unfortunately he only lives until he’s one years old. Callistana can be turned back to stone for awhile but this weakens him and makes him sick.
