Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mark her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters? Fans will not want to miss this thrilling conclusion to Marissa Meyer’s national bestselling Lunar Chronicles series.
- I hate Levana so much, but I kinda love to hate her, you know? She is actually evil instead of just a bad person.
- Where is Cress? I miss her. Oh, there she is.
- I’m starting to get what’s all the fuss about Cinder and Kai.
Winter is the final installment to The Lunar Chronicles. This one was a retelling of Snow White. Earlier books were retellings of Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel.
I was so exited to read this one but I was a little intimidated by how long it is. I thought it would take me forever to get through the 827 pages. This book’s pages are crazy thin. I thought I’d rip at least one accidentally but thankfully I didn’t.
Cress remains to be my favorite character but I really enjoyed all the characters (except Levana and whoever is in her side) in this book. They all risked their lives time and time again for Cinder and I just love that.
I didn’t read the book about Levana, so it surprised me when she revealed that one fact why she is how she is. It made me feel a little bad for her but I still hate her. It didn’t justify any of the things she does through the series. She isn’t even sorry, she just blames Cinder and Winter for everything. Levana deserved to have worse fate than she did.
Levana is supposed to be so powerful but how did people in Cinder’s side keep going in and out of the palace? Like seriously. It was so easy to break out there or even sneak in. You would think she would keep tighter security, knowing that Cinder was in Luna.
I loved this book. It’s my second favorite in the series, after Cress. It was so nice to see at least some scenes of my every ship in this book series. They just got separated way too often. I am a little meh about Winter and Jacin, though. It could be because they didn’t have a proper ending.
I didn’t think it deserved full five stars, though. I hoped it to have more Cress and Thorn and Scarlet and Wolf scenes and I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending. I just feel like it lacked of something.

I really enjoyed this series. I loved Cress and Thorne – not as a couple (even though they are really cute) but as separate characters.

Did you read Fairest? That’s where I started my love/hate with Levana. I pity her so much but also there’s no excuse for her behavior.
